Questions to ask yourself to know who you really are.

You know that quote by Tony Robbins – “The quality of your life depends on the quality of your questions”? Man, some days I wish I could un-see that quote and go back to not caring or questioning how the world works. But then I realize if I didn’t ask those deep questions, I’d never find my true self or passions. I’d just let society and others influence me constantly.

Asking myself tough questions over and over until the answers felt truly me – that’s what finally allowed me to start over and reinvent myself. And you can do that too, especially with all this pandemic downtime for self-reflection.

But how do you really get to know yourself? It’s like trying to become friends with someone new. You start with easy questions to warm up, then work your way into the deeper, more personal stuff once you’re comfortable. Journaling is the perfect way to have this conversation with yourself.

Journaling literally cured my depression and helped me discover my life’s purpose. Even just 10 minutes in the morning or before bed can be so powerful. Wake up knowing you’ve done something for yourself. Go to sleep after getting stuff off your chest.

Try picking one of these prompts for the week or doing one daily. After a month, I bet you’ll be amazed at how much better you know yourself:
